Is this a real Forum ? Yes, but it’s just a Baby, it has to crawl before it walks and it has growing pains at the moment, don’t worry though, it’s about to toddle, but not on it’s own .
If you have something to say about aRt, Bending, or just want to post your alternative images then give it a try.
What’s the worst that could happen ? Right......nothing......we want that to change, but if you have nothing alternative, just keep coming back when you do or you decide that you want a change in your Bending aRt .
.
So far no Ranting needed....
......no particular RULES here, if good taste is not followed then guidelines will be enacted .
So what is this aRt Bending Forum about ? It’s a place to share alternative images created originally on film or digital sensors . The subject of the art is up to you . I will say no Porno, Child Porno, or anything that seems socially unacceptable to the general membership will be accepted . The administrators reserve the right to edit or delete and or ban anything they feel is not in the best interests of the membership using this Forum .
This Forum is a place to share art, ideas, techniques, equipment modifications done by individual members, and any worthy sharing that seems appropiate . Absolutely no spamming or annoying of members will be tolerated .
If anyone has anything to sell, trade, or share......like tools or media, please send a private message to Ran or Ta for permission to post. We feel, for individual members the best place for selling and buying would be better served by going to an online auction source at this time .
We also feel the less rules and guidelines the better the freedom to share innovation......that’s aRt Bending, welcome !
The laws of optics is a wonderful thing, I find with the Lensbaby that you can create many unique effects similar to using a matte box with OEM lenses.
The digital camera body lets you see an instant result, even the tiny thumbnail image lets one see if the image is on the right track or where you want to go.
But sometimes what you see is not what you want until you do some final tweaking. Using diffusion like the bottle caps can look totally washed out until the contrast is brought back up with software.
Bottle caps are just one idea to hold a modifier. At your local hardware supplier or kitchen store or wherever for that matter....there are o-rings, rubber washers, soft plastic items that are great to modify for trixs.
Cut your own optic modifiers out of milk bottles, clear plastic...that is not really clear at all, color gels, black panty hose..stretched, and don’t worry if the opening(s) are not perfect or round. The Lensbaby is the right lens for this because it moves the optical light path to the sensor.
At this point in aRtBending history there is no end to the optical tricks available to try out, so be unique... create your own modifiers.
Someday you will be able to buy a modifier kit to solve some of the adaption challenges, but right now invent your own .
